Developed by the acclaimed Cordish Company of Baltimore, Maryland, and the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, .The Walk. creates a major retail/entertainment district which strongly links Atlantic City's Convention Center and transportation Center with the Boardwalk-casino-hotel district. Designed by Baltimore-based Carter Burgess Architects, the project lines the Michigan Avenue corridor and covers eight city blocks. To enhance the urban fabric and create true streetscapes, the architect's design breaks the large blocks of one-level buildings into a series of stylish sub-buildings, with distinctive and varied two-story masonry facades.
